Abstract: The following scientific paper contains research on the problem of the influence of reproduced sound on the sound notions and their shift in time. Modern social and cultural life, as well as the level of technological advance, lead to the invasion of pre-recorded sound even in situations that would typically warrant acoustic reproduction. This leads to a gradual change in the notions of sound in regards to certain elements of sound, as well as the entire tembre structure of music. The application of psychoacoustic algorithms for coding of sound leads to shifting of the original sound, which further aggravates this trend. The author tries to pinpoint some of the trends, as well as the change of the reality of sound in the human consciousness, arising as a result of this process, which is gaining momentum in today’s society. Some forecasts in regards to this process and all related to it are also presented in this paper.
